Susu (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker committed to treating eating disorders in people across the size spectrum. Her compassion-driven, body positive practice helps clients acknowledge their innate worth and feel empowered to make meaningful, self-directed changes.

Susu earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and her master’s degree from the University of Michigan. Susu brought seven years of experience in the mental health field to Edison, including work assessing and treating eating disorders and facilitating a group designed for people in larger bodies who struggled with disordered eating. 

Susu deeply understands the significant impact that oppressive systems, such as weight stigma and racism, have on mental health. Her approach strategically blends principles of intersectional feminism and Health at Every Size with evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Susu works with clients ages 10 and older. She believes families can be some of the strongest sources of support for young people navigating eating disorders and incorporates family therapy when appropriate. 

Susu accepts Wellmark and Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans. Her self-pay rate is $185 for an initial intake session and $165 for subsequent sessions, with limited sliding-scale availability.
