Susu Ahmed, LMSW
Therapist

Susu Ahmed, LMSW (she/her) is a mental health therapist working in the treatment of eating disorders for people across the size spectrum, along with a range of other mental health concerns. Her work is rooted in helping clients make meaningful, self-directed changes using evidence-based tools and compassion.

Susu is trained in a variety of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-Enhanced (CBT-E) and EMDR.. With CBT-E, she helps clients step out of unhelpful cycles and move toward directions they find rich, meaningful, and valuable. Through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), she supports clients in understanding themselves more fully and making meaning of the past.

She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Iowa. Susu’s clinical approach blends structured, research-supported methods with a strong awareness of how systems like weight stigma and racism impact mental health. She believes everyone deserves care rooted in respect, collaboration, and the belief in each person’s inherent worth.

Susu sees clients ages 10 through adult. She accepts Wellmark and BCBS plans. Her self pay rate is $165 for an intake session and $155 for subsequent sessions, with limited sliding scale availability.
