Sarah Van De Weert, PhD

Sarah (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Iowa. Sarah earned her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, her master's degree in psychology from American University (2020), and her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University (2025). Sarah has worked in a variety of settings and levels of care, including community mental health clinics, outpatient hospitals, college counseling, and residential treatment centers. Sarah completed her APA-accredited internship and post-doctoral training at Student Counseling Services at Iowa State University, with a special emphasis in supporting students with eating and body image concerns. She is currently working towards her CEDS certification.

Sarah specializes in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image concerns. Sarah's approach to therapy is rooted in trauma-informed, social justice, and Health at Every Size frameworks. She integrates CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, and compassion-focused approaches to collaborate with clients in meeting their individual goals. Additionally, Sarah has experience working with a wide range of mental health concerns and life experiences that often co-occur with eating concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, chronic illness, non-suicidal self-injury, and suicidal ideation. 

Sarah is in network with Wellmark/BCBS plans. Her self-pay rate is $225.00 for intake sessions and $210.00 for ongoing sessions.
