Ann Herrera, LMSW

Ann (she/her) is a dedicated Licensed Master Social Worker with a passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. She received her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work at St. Ambrose University.
Ann has experience in various settings, including pre-K-12 school environments, psychiatric inpatient hospitalization, and therapeutic day treatment programs. Throughout her career, she has worked closely with individuals and families facing chronic mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and behavioral/emotional disorders in children/adolescents and individuals with developmental disabilities. Ann has a special interest in disordered eating, body image struggles related to athletics, transitional life circumstances, and self-esteem issues.
Her commitment to holistic care is reflected in her approach, which emphasizes a strengths-based, non-judgmental stance. Ann firmly believes in meeting clients and/or families where they are at and forming partnerships to navigate the therapeutic process together. Ann is trained in trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral techniques, motivational interviewing, and compassionate applied behavioral analysis. She tailors her approach to each individual’s unique needs, utilizing a combination of these modalities to create personalized treatment plans and collaborative therapeutic goals.
Ann sees clients supports clients ages 3-5 for general need, and ages 10 through adults for general need and eating disorder support. She accepts Wellmark BCBS plans. Her self-pay rate is $160 for an intake session and $150 for subsequent sessions, with limited sliding scale availability.
